Organised by the Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia (HVIA) since its inception in 1968, the Brisbane Truck Show is held every two years and attracts approximately 300 exhibitors and up to 35,000 attendees.
As the largest event of its type in the southern hemisphere, the Brisbane Truck Show stands alone as the premier event in Australia for the transport industry showcasing the latest in heavy vehicles, technology, engineering and innovation.
In 2015, HVIA (Formally known as the CVIAQ) commissioned the AEC group to conduct an Economic Impact Assessment of the 2015 Brisbane Truck Show. The results for the industry’s premier event are outstanding.
Over its duration, the Brisbane Truck Show attracted 56.5% of its visitors from outside of Brisbane, whilst 28% of those transited from interstate and 14.5% internationally.
Even more impressive is the huge impact the show contributed to the local and State economy, generating:
- The equivalent of 269 full time employment positions or 18.7 million in paid wages and salaries.
- Adding an additional expenditure of over 70.1 million dollars in output into the Queensland economy
- Contributed a boost in the Gross State Product (GSP) of 34.5 million dollars
“Mr Brett Wright, CEO of Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia (HVIA), thanked and congratulated members, industry exhibitors and attendees of the Brisbane Truck Show for the manner in which they embraced the event. It comes as no surprise that the Economic Impact Assessment for the 2015 show has exceeded those previously undertaken. Each and every exhibitor raised the bar, their exhibition stand designs, company and product presentation were all of a world class standard. This together with HVIA’s well-researched and targeted campaign to attract the greatest numbers of industry buyers delivering value to each and every exhibitor further cements the Brisbane Truck Show as Australia’s premier event.
At HVIA we are committed to delivering Australia’s premier event, run by the industry for the industry.”
